Where to next? As an expatriate residing in Shanghai 上海, Molly has spent four years exploring the most unique, fascinating and breathtaking corners of China 中国. Amassing over 1.4 billion people, 56 ethnic groups, 23 provinces and countless dialects, China has unlimited potential for curious travellers. From the winter wonderland of Harbin to tropical islands in Hainan to mountainous national parks in Sichuan - this spectacular country has something for every explorer and photographer. Encompassing five geographical time zones and bordering 14 countries, China’s diverse land mass spreads across almost 4 million square miles and boasts a rich, deep history. As such, Molly was one of many foreign travellers drawn to this enticing land. Throughout her time, she has visited numerous provinces and travelled through China in every way imaginable. Her adventures have taken her to the bustling metropolis of Chongqing, snowy mountains in Jilin, ancient fishing villages in Guilin and the avatar mountains in Zhangjiajie to name a few. She is proud to have explored 14/23 provinces so far, with more closely on the horizon. Often travelling solo and with only her camera, The Shanghai Explorer captures Molly’s passion for travel photography from every angle. China is a prime location for photography lovers and Molly captures the diversity of landscapes, differences in culture and abundance of sights to be admired in this incredible country.
